Mornington Peninsula

Haven't had time to update, not that I've been out experiencing lots, but because I've had a ton of homework. We are approaching the end of our stay, sadly only have about 3 weeks left, so the teachers are tying up the ends, and giving us lots of homework, plus we just received more homework from home.

One thing I can tell for sure though is that I am coming back! I love Melbourne and Australia so much, I have to come back, preferably at a time where I don't have to study, so I can go and experience the whole country.

I visited Mornington Peninsula a couple of weeks back. MP is actually like a suburb, just a famous one, because there are lots of nice things to do there. I went on the trip with most of the class plus Jan our coordinator, and Walter - our driver and tour guide.

First stop on our way - people needed their morning coffee etc. My friend, Liv doing a model pose :)
We went to a winery, where people over 18 tasted wine, I was going to buy something back for my parents, but there were too much to choose from, and it's not exactly my area of expertise, so I decided not to.

Then we went to Sunny Ridge strawberry farm where people could pick their own strawberries. I decided to not to pick them, I just bought some that had already been picked.

We went to places like Arthur's Seat, Rosebud, Sunshine, Murray's Lookout on our way around the Mornington Peninsula bay.

Picture from Arthurs Seat - can't really explain what it is, it has some history, but basically just a nice spot with a nice view, and drive further down and you've got Murray's Lookout.

Murray's Lookout:

Then we went to the beach for a couple of hours, and finally went to take the ferry back to "the other side" of Melbourne and back into the city. The ferry was cool enough, I love standing on the deck and watching as we get our way across, but this one was sadly really "bumpy" so I felt kind of dizzy.

A bridge by a beach:

My friend on the ferry, she claims she saw a dolphin in the water, but I never saw one..

Overall it was a cool and relaxing trip - it wasn't totally packed with monuments etc. but it was nice.
